SCAM of the Day? What's Yours?
This is mine...
Conductive Grounding Socks.
Quote:"Earthing" or "grounding" is like plugging into the Earth's
natural energy. It's the practise of connecting physically
with the Earth, often by walking barefoot on grass or soil.
Earthing lets us tap into the Earth's mild negative charge
to top up on energy and rebalance our body’s systems,
which are by nature bioelectrical.
Our modern lifestyles insulate us from this energizing ground
force. Imagine it like recharging your life's battery.
Yes, the Earth's surface does carry a negative charge, but
it doesn't function with these scam socks as claimed.
See Atmospheric Electricity.
The Australian consumer site Choice has awarded a 2024
"Shonky Award" to Grounding Well’s “grounding” socks.
According to Choice, the product claims to reverse ageing,
improve sleep and reduce pain!

The other day a phone call came up: "the judiciary police of portugal found that your credit card is being used for porn"
They communicated that in english...as if a portuguese knew or understand english. So silly.

SCAM of the Day? What's Yours?
One of the biggest medical scams that's been running
for decades, and is today raking in millions of dollars
is Homeopathy.
"For the purposes of popular discourse, it is not necessary for homeopaths to prove their case.
It is merely necessary for them to create walls of obfuscation, and superficially plausible technical
documents that support their case, in order to keep the dream alive in the imaginations of both
the media and their defenders." —UK Professor Ben Goldacre OBE.
"If homeopathy works, then obviously the less you use it, the stronger it gets. So the best way to
apply homeopathy is to not use it at all." —US scientist Phil Plait.
"At the declared homeopathic dose of 200C, the total mass of pills that would have to be consumed
to encounter a single molecule of the original substance would be billions of times greater than the
mass of the Earth. Yet the label on this product says it contains a medicinal ingredient!"
—US chemist Joe Schwarcz PhD.
This product selling at $1,000 per litre is actually just water!

Water had cicles of evaporation into clowds, then rain, we drink it. Wow, are we drinking dinossaur piss? Awesome.
Apart from jokes, homeopathy gives people somekind of confort, according to my catholic psychologist and pharmacist twin sisters. I tried to be what they wanted me to be, but as the black sheep, i well be forever. I tried to believe in god, i tried medication of all sorts. All I know its that I want to know more about this world, an eternal hunger. I love to be proven wrong. I hate myself, above all else, yet, stubborn as i am, i will thrive.
Many of my friends are religious from all kinds, i was never against them, neither they were, rarely it comes up in conversation. They all tell me that "you are old school" and i say yeah.... and run off. I don't want to hurt my friends.

SCAM of the Day? What's Yours?
Today's scam "medical" device:
Magnetic Copper Bracelet for $68.
This Wellness Product contains 3 Neodymium Magnets
on each link and can be shortened if necessary. Wearing
this bracelet may assist with:
Joint pain, arthritis carpal tunnel, tennis elbow, tendonitis, repetitive strain injury (RSI),
Pain and inflammation in the knees, shoulders, arms, wrist or hands,
Gout,
Persistent Headaches,
Poor circulation associated with diabetes, cold hands and feet,
Difficulty sleeping, anxiety, migraine headaches, fatigue, or stress,
And... ta daaa! Enhance overall well-being.
According to the site:
Quote:The magnetic field generated by each magnet improves blood
circulation by attracting the iron particles found in haemoglobin,
the red protein responsible for transporting oxygen in the blood.
Blood is not magnetic! There are no "iron particles" in blood. This
has to be one of the most ludicrous medical claims I've ever heard.
Sadly, I've noticed my local pharmacy selling this absurd rubbish.

SCAM of the Day? What's Yours?
Not a current scam, but I just saw this video about a guy who regularly drank Radithor, snake oil containing Radium. They had to bury him in a lead coffin and his bones will remain radioactive for millennia!
The "Radioendocrinator" mentioned at that 4:45 mark was a radium-laced jock strap. Natural selection at its finest.
