There's honestly no talking nutballs out of the idea that the us is somehow running this show - because what it means to have an ally, is dealing with allies own self interested actions even when they aren't great for you. If they did whatever the fuck you said ignoring their own interests..they wouldn't be an ally, they'd be a vassal. As soon as people figure out whether they want the us to treat other countries like allies or vassals....then, maybe then, there can be a good faith discussion on the subject, by no means limited to just this one instance of other people doing horrid shit for their own reasons.

In what way exactly is Biden NOT in control? He's the one providing the weapons at no cost and with no (meaningful) conditions.

If he's unable to stop the weapons then either Israel (or more likely AIPAC) has something on us, or is the lynchpin of some real or imagined Middle East hegemony, or he's just set in his ways.

But he's in control. It isn't that he doesn't have great leverage, it's that he refuses to use it.

We should cut off weapons supply, but @Antonio's argument, that this is America's war, is shit. America didn't urge Hamas to attack Israel. We didn't start this war. We may ameliorate some of its worst effects by cutting off weapons-shipments, but let's face it -- the Israelis have enough money and industry that they can keep this up without us for a while.

I agree with your last sentence. Biden refuses to use what leverage we have. I disagree that our leverage might be decisive. Netanyahu has enough on his table that he will keep this war going in order to keep his own ass out of jail, no matter what Biden decides.
