Eric Swalwell should be running for president!

If it helps in the slightest, Trump supporters fear Harris getting elected just as much as we fear Trump…but for different reasons.

Imagine being a diehard Trump supporter and Harris’ winning meant they now have to crawl back into their hovels and have to learn how to moderate their hate again. They loved the freedom to spew their conspiracies and racism, Harris will curtail that. And money and help programs, while going to them will also go to “those” people. Harris might close all their churches! Their children will have their sexes changed. Homos will rule and rampant butt sex will occur.

This is the problem that Trump has encouraged and they believe….so, I’d imagine their stress level is as high as ours.

Now they're trying with a woman of color
Good luck with that

I have had to take a break from watching any political news. I'm just fed up to my eyeballs with it. I already voted. I'm very anxious about the results. All I can do to placate myself is to remind myself that Trump lost last time and there is even more reason to see that he loses this time and I hope enough people see that. I'm rooting for all the woman voters to get back all their rights. I don't know how I will handle it if trump wins. I was devastated when he won last time. I'm trying to do what I can right now to protect my mental health. I'm trying to just cocoon myself at the moment to keep up my hope until the chips fall.

With a Harris win, I’m finally looking forward to my country being what I thought was possible.  I had that hope with Obama but, while he was good, it wasn’t what I was hoping for.  He had to play to the conservatives and was a centrist to begin with.  I’m prepared for Harris to fall short as well but I like her plans and general direction.  Of course, my hopes also include a blue house and senate.  If all that happens, I look forward to what we can do.  Enough of a blue wave and we can finally ignore the Trumpers and Republican sycophants entirely.

No, I won’t put money on it…but, I’m an optimist.

The cynic in me says that what "undecided voters" want is "attention."  Makes them feel important.

Because if they are really undecided then they are the dumbest fucks in the world.

I am fairly confident Harris will win but the GOP will take majority in the Senate. Which would be quite miserable for Harris.

That's my feeling about this election too.  Why is someone as blatantly dishonest and hateful as Trump supported by millions of Americans?

Because millions of Americans are fascists or at least don't mind fascist policies. Hope I helped.

To be more serious it's wrong question. It's obvious why they support trump however uncomfortable this answer might be. Instead one should ask how fascism  - ideology delegitimized as thoroughly as ideology can be - returned to haunt the world yet again.

Trump's supporters are most likely to be the same
people whose brains are readily inculcated with
corporate marketers' hype in all their advertising.
They're usually of low intellect, lacking discernment,
and greedy.

Errr... well... Suckers for Trump's bullshit self-marketing.

"Special of The Day", "Run Out Sale!", "Halloween Sale", or
"Don't Miss Out"... all this sort of meaningless marketing crap.

I can sell you a Halloween pumpkin for $14.95 or two
for $29.00.    Don't miss a bargain! LOL.

My view of many Trump supporters is they are hoping he’ll fix what they think is wrong with America. They have been having fits over the progress that America has made recently and while each supporter might not hate all of the changes, they hate certain ones enough to want Trump in office. The issues?…
Acceptance of the LGBTQ community
Gay marriage
Preferential treatment of minorities in hiring (DEI)
Frustration with the pandemic closures
Wearing masks during the pandemic
Being forced to get the Vaxx
The pandemic crashing the economy
High gas prices
Churches being closed during the pandemic
Dwindling Christian numbers
Christian’s being forced to accommodate “those” people (whomever they are)
A black man becoming president
Loss of white privilege
Loss of Christian privilege
Immigrants

When a society goes through some changes whether rapidly or slowly, there will always be a segment of society that can’t accept it. It triggers their uncomfortable zones. It matters not whether some of these changes are beyond our control or not or beyond government control. They have a low tolerance for change of any kind. Many realize Trump can’t fix all of this. It doesn’t matter as long as he’s an authoritarian figure and hates some of the things they hate. Their world underwent these changes and they will accept the rolling back of just a few to feel “safe” again.

One thing to always remember, the conservative personality has a lower fear threshold than more liberal personalities have. They fear things that I don’t. They fear things with no real reason to other than it’s different than previously. Sometimes, their fears can be assuaged and sometimes, they can’t.

My personal belief is that if Harris doesn't win AND get a majority in both houses, literally ALL she does is buy a little time. Maybe. Sort of.

Even if she gets a majority, the Dems would probably be full of themselves and return to their usual approach of doing the barest possible minimum to keep most of their constituencies somewhat placated. Because they always have to consider the Will of the Donors.

So help me if she wins, yet we are going through this same horseshit in 4 years again, I will lay it at the feet of the Dems, not the GOP. (Yeah I know, THAT'll show 'em, lol)

I think many Americans blame the Democrats because they are the only adults in the room, just like we blame our parents when we are teenagers.  Certainly the Republicans are not behaving like adults.  So it's a double standard.

If Harris wins and we get both in Congress, the Dems would truly be fools not to realize how they got it…POC, women and the youth. Ignore all three at their peril!

Yes, as usual for both parties, money came from wealthy corporate and individual donors but the Dems got 1 Billion and a shit ton of it came from regular people. Again, they forget that at their peril.

I know I’m a cockeyed optimist but I think Harris and Walz are the new generation of Dems. Biden and Pelosi had their time in the sun but it’s a new generation coming into the Dem party. And, it something the Republicans don’t have. Yes, Vance is younger but he’s too weird for many and if we get a blue wave, the Republicans will be scrambling to redefine themselves (for real this time) or get used to a long time before they figure it out. They have to deal with whatever the Trump aftermath looks like…perhaps even a new party to leave all the kooks behind.
