I got into a debate with a loony right-winger not long ago, and he made the insane argument that Democrats are the party of war and that the reason single women vote Democrat and therefore war is because they don't have children his argument breakdown like this
1. He claims Single women don't have anything to risk in a war, so they support war.
This assumes without evidence that single people don't have younger relatives or don't have friends with children, or don't have basic empathy in general. He tries to counter this by claiming no one would vote for a war if what I'm saying is true, this is of course stupid because it assumes people judge war on if their children will be in the war rather than you know the merit of the war itself.
2. He claims that because women can't be drafted they vote for war and that voting should be a requirement to vote because it creates risk.
I argue the draft is stupid and shouldn't exist period and that the risk is the fact this is the place you live and that should be incentive enough it's a freaking weird assumption that people who are single just want war willy-nilly and aren't looking at the merits of a conflict.
3. He claims no combat vets with children would ever vote for a pro war candidate.
This again is stated without evidence so instead he demands I provide examples while he apparently is allowed to just proclaim he knows veterans without providing any examples himself and makes appeals to the American Legion and insists that proves his point somehow again this whole line of reasoning assumes veterans judge war on if their children will be in the war rather than you know the merit of the war itself.
4. He essentially goes full xenophobe and insist that because he's an American and can vote and has an investment in America automatically makes him right and that me the smelly foreigner shouldn't have an opinion on it or my opinion should hold no weight as I can't vote nor be drafted in the American army.
This is stupid because it assumes the interest of nations are in isolation and in our integrated world they sure as hell aren't and it also foolishly assumes that this issue is an solely American issue as if every other country on earth doesn't deal with this same issue. So no there nothing about his status as an American that makes him right by default.
