Speyer revisited

Once in a while i like to visit the old imperial city of Speyer and its cathedral, the equivalent of Saint Denis or Westminser abbey.
Battery of my phone died early, so not many pics, sorry.

The crypt, where 4 emperors (a whole dynasty), their wifes, 4 kings and Barbarossas wife and daughter are entombed.
Not to Forget Rudolf I of Habsburg, founder of the Habsburg dynasty (including his son)

Say hello to Rudolf. He is looking a bit sad. Maybe he didnt know by now that he had kicked off the most successful dynasty ever.


A whole dynasty (Salians) of german emperors. Father, son, grandson and great-grandson. Konrad II and Henry III-V



The general crypt. Size: 30 by 40m. The biggest romanesque crypt we have.
