Hambach Castle, aka. cradle of german democracy

In the 1830s, a bunch of disillusioned and disenfranchised took torches and the colours "black, red and yellow" for the first time up to the Hambach castle in order to celebrate the spirit of democratic freedom. In 1848 it led to democratic uprisings all cross Germany, but alas, the flower of democracy was trampled upon by the monarchies, and we had to wait until 1918.
