I'm actually more confident than I was this time last year that, overall, 2021 will
be a "better" year than 2020.  For one, we won't have the boorish buffoon in
charge of the United States.  And two, we'll get on top of the COVID-19 pandemic
globally.  I tend to be more optimistic than pessimistic at the beginning of a new
year, although I see time as a continuum—rather than as broken up into 12-month
sectors.  In reality of course, there's no such thing a a "new" year, and its corporate
and media driven significance is in actuality bullshit, designed to dull the plebs.

I'm not as confident though that we'll do anything more proactively in order to
mitigate global warming—politicians of all stripes just don't care enough, as long
as their parliamentary pensions are safe.

"The Gregorian Calendar was an improvement over the Julian Calendar but remained mathematically cumbersome, lacking a year 1 or a year 2020. The latter was particularly odd given the strangely named years 2020-won and 2020-too..."

The world ended in 2012. Where were you?

This is all just a simulation.

I think the world will find a closer appreciation of the Great Depression before this is over.

I'm thinking that we should do predictions for 2021... I reckon that the Duke of Edinburgh will die before his 100th birthday.

I'm hoping Betty will pop her clogs this year too.

Hopefully that'll accelerate Australia becoming a republic, getting rid of
our fucking useless Governor-General, and pissing off the fucking Union
flag from our flag's canton.

In order to look like this:

Looks like something from @FlagsMashupBot on Twitter.

As for '21, I do think things will more permanently open up, but I don't think the pandemic will end, and certainly complication-related current events will continue to happen in 2021 and beyond. What? I don't know.
Is this sig thing on?

As long as there's a protective cordon around Betty White and Tom Lehrer, I don't care.

I fell off the back of a farm truck once. Landed in a mud puddle and didn't wake up. Long day in a series of long days.

I'm not so sure. Consider

Just like the '60s didn't end until about '73, 2020 won't end before January 20, 2021.  Maybe later.
