A few "high" points:
* US & UK authorities are taking note that vaccine protection is limited to 3-4 months (immunity; somewhat longer as to severity reduction). I don't recall if it's discussed in this thread, but for the latest strains, especially BA.5, immunity protection from current vaccines is nearly non-existent.
* Covid infection damages T-Cells and ages your immune system. Less severe outcomes for people under 60 is explained by a more robust supply of so-called "naive T-Cells" formed in childhood.
* The only way forward is masking, social distancing, upgrading HVAC systems in schools and other public spaces, more frequent boosters and/or better vaccines. All in concert, with some relaxation between waves.
Not that the US is going to do any of that shit, and most certainly not before the midterm elections. Canada? IDK, maybe a little more.
