To what end? It matters not a jot how efficient they are if morons won't wear them.

You have to mandate them. That's what they're doing here. We are required to wear FFP2 masks indoors, when shopping, at public transport and outside at public gatherings. Be it a protest or be it - caugh, caugh - a sports game. They cost the pittance of 50 cents a piece and are handed out for free at the supermarket cash points, if you haven't got any.

In addition to this, stores, other than grocery stores or supermarkets, have to check for the status of the potential buyer. You have to show your vaccination certificate or some official prove of already having recovered from Covid. Come april, Covid vaccinations become mandatory, just as it was with the vaccination against smallpox when I was a child.

All of this raises storms with the far right and I can imagine how this would sit with certain American groups. But it seems to be the only way to keep the pandemic in check.
