According to the CDC Omicron cases have a higher viral load in general, which is one reason why it's so infectious. A visit to the grocery store might very well be sufficient, especially if a lot of people were wearing their masks the wrong way.
@Dom I hope if you do have Covid that your case is a light one, with a quick and complete recovery.
I got to talking with someone in the store, so I spent more than the usual 10 minutes there. I did keep my distance - except for the teller, I had to get closer in order to use my card there. In any case, as long as the breathing remains fine, I am not too worried about the rest. Dinner last night tasted just fine, actually, it was very good. My sense of smell is shot anyway due to sinus issues, so I can't measure with that.
From my decades long experience with asthma, I know not to let breathing ever slip too far. So, I am going to use my inhaler every 4 hours today, to ward off any future issues. I am nothing if not prepared for this. Bring it!
Take care of yourself. If you've been vaxxed and boosted you should be ok. I'm sorry you're feeling rotten even if it isn't Omicron.
