The endlessly scary headlines are directly to blame for not-sick people calling 911 for an ambulance ride to the hospital for a coronavirus test and for not-sick people going to hospital emergency departments for a coronavirus PCR test. I wonder how many critically ill people had their emergency treatment or ambulance delayed for craziness like this?

Dr. Rick Hildebrant is RRMC’s medical director. He says some people who test positive with a rapid test go to the emergency room looking for a PCR test.
The Vermont Hospital Association says it’s hearing similar stories from other parts of the state.
