The Christian TV channel 'Daystar' has been syndicated here in Australia on
Foxtel (no surprise there!) and was subject to complaints that it disseminated
disinformation and misinformation about Coronavirus and its treatment. They
promoted both Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine.
In February this year the Australian Media and Communication Authority (ACMA)
released a new Code of Practice on Disinformation and Misinformation for online
platforms, but ironically it doesn't extend to television.
A review into Daystar TV by Foxtel has not found the network to be in breach of
any Australian TV codes of conduct... well of course they fucking wouldn't!
The network announced the death of Mr Lamb earlier this week on Twitter. "It's with
a heavy heart we announce that Marcus Lamb, president and founder of Daystar
Network, went home to be with the Lord this morning," the post said. Mrs Lamb
spoke about the death of her husband on her talk show on Tuesday morning US time.
"This morning at 4AM, the president and founder of Daystar and the love of my life
went to be with Jesus," she told viewers.
