Coronavirus spreads. But don't panic! (topical thread)

Has it hit the US yet?  So let me get this straight.  The virus mutated to spread quicker.  Is there another mutation besides that one?

Unfortunately the answer is yes, there are now two mutant strains in the UK, one discovered in the county of Kent in September and the second discovered in South Africa and found in two people who travelled from there to Britain. Both are massively contagious and scientists are concerned the South African strain may have the potential to hit youngsters harder, I don't know if the African strain is in the US, hopefully it isn't. Tbh I'm surprised the US hasn't yet imposed a travel ban from the UK and South Africa because they really need to.

Reports on the news yesterday said it's probably already here, but not yet detected, in part because we're not much good at detection. After all, it only requires one infected person to fly in from the UK.
