Unfortunately the answer is yes, there are now two mutant strains in the UK, one discovered in the county of Kent in September and the second discovered in South Africa and found in two people who travelled from there to Britain. Both are massively contagious and scientists are concerned the South African strain may have the potential to hit youngsters harder, I don't know if the African strain is in the US, hopefully it isn't. Tbh I'm surprised the US hasn't yet imposed a travel ban from the UK and South Africa because they really need to.
