of their vaccine.
I already read that on Snopes and that has nothing to do with Pfizer's, along with four other drug companies, participation in warp speed. Pfizer's own press release said they said that they did participate.

Mate... it doesn't matter how many times you claim that the Pfizer research was funded by Trump's silly OWS,
it's not gonna make it true.  Better to roll over and admit you read this wrongly, rather than making yourself
look foolish.  And your claim about "four other drug companies" is also incorrect.

The companies receiving research subsidies are,  Sanofi and GlaxoSmithKline; Merck and IAVI; Novavax; Moderna;
AstraZeneca; Johnson & Johnson.  Three other companies received indirect funding through research collaborations,
Regeneron;  Inovio; Vaxart.

The Pfizer-BioNTech partnership did not receive US government funding for research. "We were never part of the
Warp Speed. We have never taken any money from the US government, or from anyone", Kathrin Jansen, the
company’s vice president for vaccine research said on 10 November.

—End of story.

Yeah, Mate... you're being misleading, no matter how much you want to deny that Pfizer participated in OWS...and besides, you're focusing too much on Pfizer. Pfizer wasn't the only company involved with OWS. Other companies like Moderna did receive OWS funding for research and development, (and Moderna also developed a COVID vaccine). Pfizer had a separate agreement with the Trump administration by way of an advance purchase order for 100,000,000 doses of the vaccine on the condition of FDA emergency use authorization. Yesterday, in warp speed, Pfizer filed for FDA approval so they can receive OWS money for the purchase agreement...

Quote:In their own recent announcements, Moderna gave Operation Warp Speed a nod, while Pfizer didn’t mention it. That can be explained by the different partnerships the Trump administration struck with the two companies.

The federal government’s deal with Pfizer would pay for the purchase of the company’s vaccine if it gets FDA emergency use authorization or approval. So Pfizer hasn’t gotten any Warp Speed funding yet. With Moderna and other companies, by contrast, the government is helping to fund the vaccines’ development and various efforts to scale up manufacturing.

Those differences may influence who can claim the credit for the breakthroughs at this stage. But in either case, it’s clear the federal government is playing a significant role in the multi-pronged effort to develop and test vaccine candidates, manufacture them in large quantities and distribute them nationwide

Quote:Experts offer nuanced explanations as to Pfizer's level of participation in Operation Warp Speed.

Company representatives stated that "the company is part of Operation Warp Speed as a supplier of a potential coronavirus vaccine", and that "Pfizer is proud to be one of various vaccine manufacturers participating in Operation Warp Speed as a supplier of a potential COVID-19 vaccine".

So, Pfizer IS a participant in OWS.
