Another thing to keep in mind is staying upwind. If you are upwind and there is a noticeable breeze, there's no way a droplet is going to swim upstream to youI get a lot of comfort in that. On the other hand, 6 feet is not enough when you have to pass downwind.
Yeah, I don't wear a mask/social distance around Mr. BC either.
It sounds like you are doing the best you can do within reason and I think that's all the best any of us can do.
