Say what you will about the kook(s) that believe this, as an idea it's got definite merit.

Taking the position that "god" is a misfire of two human intellectual strengths:  pattern recognition and ascribing agency to events, both hardwired into our neural architecture, developing brain chemistry to be more discriminating in applying these talents would not be a bad thing.
