NY had ~30k deaths to Florida's ~5k. Which means NY almost certainly has well above 2.4 million actual cases.
I'm not saying Florida situation isn't serious, just that the reporting is so frustratingly misleading for people trying to figure out what's actually happening.
Irony: Whining about leaving off the "confirmed" qualifier while using the very same breath to guesstimate "actual" cases from death rates.
Also...the source I referred to, CNN/Johns Hopkins, doesn’t use “confirmed” in its language. It uses “reported cases” and “cases.” So adding the qualifier would be incorrect.
And I wasn’t asserting its veracity, just indicating to Min what this particular source reported. Evidently that merited a spanking.
But I’m just screaming into the abyss. Wearing a mask, washing my hands, and socially distancing all the way down, though...
