Actually there are two owners, who don't see eye to eye. The nephew of the Tönnies in question openly criticizes his uncle for his business policy and demands stricter regulations. I also heard reports that the Tönnies plants account for 20 percent of the German meat production. Wonder how this pans out, once this plant is closed until further notice.
