Hopefully, the non-alarmists will be right, and this won't be costly. I'm certainly crossing my fingers for that result. But I liked the dipping the toe strategy, rather than cannon-balling into the deep end.
Just crazy, with all the times people could have committed to extended protests, they picked during a pandemic. Or maybe the two are connected. No distractions. Lot of people working from home/out of work. All amped up to get outside and move around...etc...
I share your concerns. If we see a huge second wave of covid-19 in the U.S., people on both sides of the political spectrum will be responsible -- the right for pressuring to go back to business-as-usual too early and the left for the protests.
And they will likely blame each other.
I don't blame any regular person at this point. There's no way to accurately assess the risk. We've been left to guess.
