Trump's outlandish behavior as Americans suffer has inspired horror and confusion while alienating allies... his
administration has repeatedly claimed that the US is “leading the world” with its response to the pandemic, but
it does not seem to be going in any direction the world wants to follow....
Across Australia, Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America, views of the US handling of the coronavirus crisis are
uniformly negative and range from horror through derision to sympathy. Trump’s musings from the White House
briefing room, particularly his thoughts on injecting disinfectant, have drawn the attention of the planet...
"Over more than two centuries, the US has stirred a very wide range of feelings in the rest of the world: love and
hatred, fear and hope, envy and contempt, awe and anger" opined the 25 April 20 Irish Times. "But there is
one emotion that has never been directed towards the US until now: pity".
—As I've travelled extensively in the US, and have had American friends at various times, I've always had an affinity
for the country, to the point where now I feel an inward rage at the way Trump's fucked the country in so many
ways; economically, politically, and socially. That one man, an arrogant, moronic buffoon can create so much widely
spread contempt across the entire planet is almost unbelievable.
And whatever it takes, the US citizenry MUST get rid of Trump come November. If not, the country will become
a banana republic, shunned by the rest of the world, shut off from international trade, and reduced to a minor world
power begging for economic scraps. China, Russia, and North Korea are each simply biding their time and waiting
for that to happen.
