Something wonky is going on there.  Maybe it's the heroin rather than real estate prices in some of the areas?  But a lot of roofless folks over yonder.

Perhaps your analysis is superficial. Have you checked for a correlation with climate? Bitterly cold winters tend to limit the homeless population.

Plus generosity of the natives tends to support the homeless. I am known to give out a few care packages with socks, wet wipes, lotion and foods here and there when I go shopping and see them loitering outside the parking lot, hoping for some food.
