I freeze bread. Fresh-baked doesn't suffer much at all. But I've drank thawed milk. The separation ruins it for me. Blech.

You have to shake the fuck out of it once it's thawed for it to get it mixed back together and tasting reasonable. But, it works fine for cooking/baking and for cereals, hot or cold. I grew up with a mother who could pinch the beard right off of Honest Abe and would buy in bulk when stuff, especially staples, were on sale, so I grew up with things like that. She never went to this extreme, but I've heard of people who would shell a dozen eggs, scramble them, and freeze them in ice cube trays. My home ec. teacher back in the day swore by it, but claimed they were only good for baking after that.

I might prefer the corona to that! Sounds like chow-hall food if I've ever heard it described.

I've been tempted to try the thing with the eggs, just out of curiosity. I don't use enough eggs that I think I'll ever see freezing them as a necessity.
