I think the fact that the cops were called on the realtor at all is where the real, and much more endemic, racism lies. The fact that the cops went all-in on it is just the icing on the cake.

Except for the fact that the concerned neighbour did not know it was a realtor and
his clients.  They though it was a repeat of the burglary the previous week.

Yes, I get that.

 

There was no racist intent apparent on the part of the caller, and the police had no choice but to investigate.

How do you know what conscious or unconscious motives the caller had? Ever been to Wyoming? Go take a look at their demographics some time, too.

At least I had the good sense to phrase my view as an opinion, rather than a bald claim of fact.

And I'm not sure what you mean by the police going "all-in"?  If Aussie police are investigating a potential break and enter, they too will draw their sidearms.

It depends on circumstances, how police respond to reports. Presumably a realtor showing a house isn't skulking around and presenting a threat.

Americans are far too eager to play the racist card at the drop of a hat apparently. Even when there's little or no supporting evidence. And as the police said, they did everything in accordance with standard police protocol.  End of story.

No, not "end of". Racism runs deep in the American culture. It's clear you don't understand my point in my previous post. That's probably because you don't understand American culture.
