Syz, tasers have a max range of 10 feet.  I suspect that within 10 feet even the dumbest cop would be able to know who is black and who is white...

Yes, I understand that about tasers, but the thrust of my question was more to do with the methodology
of the chase, when the cops had no idea that the driver was black... or Hispanic, or white for that matter.
To claim that the police targetted this driver solely because of alleged racial profiling is erroneous.  It wasn't
until they'd actually stopped him that they discovered that he was black.

The question which can not be answered is, does the cop fire his taser at a white guy?

Yes. And often.  Check out YouTube under something like "US police chases" or "dash cam videos".

And to answer your first question would a white driver have the same level of fear that a black driver has to even try to flee?  Was he "fleeing" to get away or was he trying to get to a public place so he wouldn't be killed?

Yes; many white or Hispanic drivers flee from police apprehension.  Any/all drivers who fail to stop when
directed to by police immediately make themselves a suspect for some crime—there is no need to fear the
police if you have nothing to hide, and that applies to black drivers as well.  The blacks who've been killed
at a police stop have invariably been uncooperative, belligerent, argumentative, inebriated or drug-affected,
or failed to obey a simple lawful order from an LEO.

Let's not pretend that everyone is treated equally in this country.  They are not.

Obviously, from my standpoint in Australia I can't comment on this either way, other than to say downunder,
there are far, far more white drivers involved in aggressive confrontations with police.  Having said that of
course the percentage of blacks in our population is nowhere near as high as in the US.
