What killed him then? You seem to describe a pretty much perfect arrest in which very little force was applied, yet the guy died. Adults in reasonably good shape don't die just like that. Why was he even a patient for? You seem to imply that the guy was resisting arrest and "faking" respiratory problems and was just being a general handfull.
I guess we'll have to await the results of the autopsy and/or the coronial inquest. I'm supposing
maybe a latent but undiagnosed coronary, pulmonary, or respiratory disease, or even a stroke.
Extreme exertion could cause the onset/exacerbation of any of these conditions. Williams was
actively resisting arrest, and fought against being handcuffed—because he had the drugs hidden
in his left hand. He dropped them and then attempted to kick them away with his foot.
