User Group Descriptions
New Accounts:

Awaiting Activation: These users may browse the forum, post to the boards, and send and receive private messages. Posts created by users in this group require approval from a moderator before it is made visible to the forum and account activation generally occurs within a few hours after the first post is made. Users in Awaiting Activation have full access to their user control panel (UCP) and may change titles, avatars, and set a signature.

Activated: Upon approval of the first post, users are placed in the  group for a trial period of up to 3 days from the point of registration. Members in the Activated group have permissions that mirror those of Registered Users with a few exceptions. Newly activated members must wait until they are advanced to the Registered User group before issuing reputation to other users, and they may be restricted to the number of recipients they may send private messages to at once.

Registered Users:

Registered Users: Registered users may post to all boards, like posts, edit their own posts for up to 4 hours after the initial post, set a signature, change their title, and send PMs with up to five recipients. Members in this group may issue reputation to others (up to five points per day, giving between -1 and 1 points per recipient, but if the user themselves carries a total value of reputation that falls into the negative, they will not be permitted to issue reputation until their reputation returns to neutral or positive.

Former Staff Members: All attributes from Registered Users plus additional editing time on posts and a reputation allotment between -2 and 2 points per user.

Former Administrators and Super Moderators: All attributes from Registered Users plus additional editing time on posts and a reputation allotment between -3 and 3 points per user.

Restricted Users:

Naughty List: This group is dedicated for users who are ignoring forum rules and not responding adequately to efforts to curb behavior. If a user find themselves on the naughty list, they will lose their ability to set a user title, and they will not be able to create threads of their own. They will be permitted to respond to other threads, and posts may or may not be moderated before making it to the board.

Ban Tank: This is a category reserved for moderators to put a user who they believe should be banned. Final decision on banning comes from an Administrator. This is a last resort option used in the absence of an Administrator when a user is being particularly disruptive and not responding to other actions.

Banned: Banned users may access their user CP and they may view the boards as a guest, but all other functions are suspended, including the ability to send private messages.

Staff:

Moderator: Members in this group moderate all public boards accessible to registered users. They have the ability to edit user’s posts (with an edited by stamp appearing on an edited post), they have access to users IP information, and the ability to post forum announcements. Moderators may approve first posts, issue warnings if needed, and temporarily suspend posting privileges if the situation warrants it.

Super Moderator: Everything from the moderator’s group plus the possibility of limited Admin Control Panel (ACP), possibly including user email addresses.

Super Mod/Administrator: Everything from the moderator’s group plus full access to the admin control panel (ACP), along with user email addresses.

Administrator: Members of this group have Admin Control Panel (ACP) access and access to the server. These members have access to user email addresses, IP information, and database access.

The access levels that staff have to the data you provide to the forum are accessible to them as outlined above, but please note that we greatly value the privacy of our members and strictly limit this access as much as possible. If any changes to access occur, forum members will be notified in an official announcement from an administrator.
