Please don't.    "Memories" has to be one of the most execrable songs ever written and
performed. It rates second only on my list to Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You".

Both vomitous in their own distinct ways.      Barf

Do you have a cat in your life?

I have several now and have lost some over my many years.  Cats are not like dogs.  Cats are creatures of the night to some, foreboding icons.  Cats are villians in many stories.  I find them to be wonderful and amazing companions.  Easy to hold and stroke, willing to stay clean in a house, and good on the lap and on the bed without trying to take it over.

Barf?  Sometimes a hairball (easily scoopable), but seldom true vomit like a dog.

But I didn't post to glorify cats.  I said the song was a good one.  Musically, it hit high and low notes.  Lyrically, it expressed the desire of an old show-cat to live again in her "days of glory".  It was a longing expression of a cat sent to the streets rememboring the good life she had before and had somehow lost.  The original in the play was excellent and touching.  The Steisand version was the expression of a skilled singer.

What exactly did you hate so much about that one song?  And why?  I mean, if you want to discuss  "execrable songs", why not some pathetic boy-band or Milli Vanilli?

Mountain-high though the difficulties appear, terrible and gloomy though all things seem, they are but Mâyâ.
Fear not — it is banished. Crush it, and it vanishes. Stamp upon it, and it dies.
