'Twas a great rehearsal/jam session with Jim tonight, we did our four originals as rote practice, spent a good hour on another three songs of his, and started working up "Melissa" from the Allman Brothers.
The music in my head right now is the chimey tone I was hitting with my rig tonight ... clean with a little hair when doing higher arpeggiations, grunty when digging in for the energetic parts. The amp was dialed in really well and very touch-responsive. He can't make the open-mic this Wednesday, but the next one should see us rolling out this stuff. I think it'll go over well, Americana without being schmaltzy, rocking without being obnoxious. It's a good space to be in.
On hiatus.
