I never wrote that it was a "Good Thing", so I'm unsure why you'd impute that to me.

I see American exceptionalism as a version of the "City on the Hill" mythos which posits that we as a nation are a guiding light for the world, and that our actions are, or should be, beyond reproach for that reason. There's also the national mythos of Rugged Individualism™ which implies that Americans are themselves unique in the world and a model for the rest of humanity.

O,IC. I misread that sentence. The fault is with moi, last night was not a great one for sleep and it is impacting me more than I thought. Sorry.
