The Wire or The Sopranos - Inkubus - 07-24-2024
It's summer, that means the telly's shite.
So I now have every series of what is widely reported to be some of the finest gangster shit ever made.
It's been a long time but I'm pretty sure I haven't seen one full episode of either of them. I recall seeing a clip of Gandolfini pulverizing some blokes face against a toilet urinal. And from the Wire some twat chucking smoke bombs into the back of a boozer then machine gunning every fucker as they ran out the front. Which I thought was pretty neat.
Yes they are quite old now so it's maybe a big ask, but where do I start?

I couldn't get into either of them. My default go to is Scrubs. But recently, I discovered Tacoma FD. It is absolutely hilarious.

Start at episode one, season one. If you’re not enjoying it at all after the first episode, give it up. If you’re curious where it’s going, keep watching. Repeat as needed.
I love the series but watched it when it came out. I’m not sure how well it’s held up over time. I did learn lots of Italian/mafia terms though…

Love 'em both. I think I've re-watched the Sopranos more than the Wire though, so I guess I'd have to say I prefer the Sopranos.

Well It was The Wire s1 ep1 and it doesn't look to be that easy to get into. It didn't help that I couldn't tell the characters apart, and there are lots of them, lots and lots of them.

Well it was The Sopranos, and fuck me is it slow. Episode 1-3 and nothing happened. Episode 4-5 and nothing continued to happen.
I'll give it the Wire tonight.

I've not watched any of them so I'm not much help. I enjoyed series 2 of Reacher though, gripping from the start.
