That's hilarious.
I have a mate who has about .5 million in the stock market. He aims for 2-3 times the inflation rate. Seldom loses money, and even then not a lot. Seems a secret might be don't be greedy .
A foolproof way of an excellent return is to pay any extra money into your mortgage. Here any money above the set monthly rate comes directly off the principle. Here there is also no capital gains tax on one's domicile. Add PAYE tax on interest, and you have a rate of return far higher than any reasonably safe investment .
