Would second shooter change all narrative about Kennedy death? Or just one relatively unimportant detail?

One datum point is the start of an investigation that would determine the value of that point.

Would second shooter change all narrative about Kennedy death?

Why did you repeat a question I already answered?

I suspect what above mentioned book will say as it isn't first one on the subject that I am reading. But my knowledge will still expand and new perspectives will be shown.

I should explain further.  There was a time when I read every sci-fi and factual book that the stores would sell.  I have some first editions.  At one time, my shelves held 60' of sci-fi and another 40' of science/nature.  I read and re-read them all.  But my life is now more daily-updated.  Books go obsolete so quickly these day. New knowledge overcomes books.

I love books.  I treasure the feel of them.  But life has drawn me beyond them.  They can't keep up...

I regret that but I acknowledge the reality..

Perhaps biology, chemistry or physics book can get outdated quickly but the same isn't the case with history, that is subject being my primary concern. Research can take years but isn't invalidated by some new data point being found.

Oh, history changes too. New stuff is always found.

Are people STILL debating the Kennedy assassination? That's like debating the moonwalks.

Or old stuff is reviewed with an new eye. Alan Zimm demolished Prange's analysis of the raid on Pearl Harbor. Zimm was an instructor at the Naval War College with a sharp eye for facts, while Prange wanted to tell a majestic tale. In the course of Zimm's research a certain Japanese pilot and blowhard, Fuchida Mitsuo, went down in flames.

I would never know if you wouldn't kindly share this info with me.

Fact that new stuff is found does not equal to it automatically invalidating previous state of knowledge. Old theories may easily end being reinforced by new findings.

I am pleased to have educated you in this slight degree.

And actually, you mirror some arguments in the September issue of Scientific American. In physics, all is observation. In math it is all from axioms. Both work and don't. In physics, old ideas must be discarded in favor of the new. In math old axioms work but new ones are better. Choose your poison.

And now I wonder if you did not recognize sarcasm or simply decided to ignore it.

It might have escaped you but history is neither math nor physics.

RE: What book(s) are you currently reading? - Astreja - 12-19-2019

Reading Undeniable by Bill Nye and At Home by Bill Bryson.

RE: What book(s) are you currently reading? - Astreja - 01-02-2020

About halfway through At Home now.

Recently finished Focus by Daniel Goleman and Side Hustle by Chris Guillebeau, and reading Goleman's book Emotional Intelligence plus the memoir Let's Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Lawson (alias The Bloggess).

RE: What book(s) are you currently reading? - Gawdzilla Sama - 01-02-2020

Steel Beach, by John Varley. This book is in the "Thunder and Lightning" universe but the characters from that series haven't made an appearance [i]yet]. Excellent writing as always.

RE: What book(s) are you currently reading? - OakTree500 - 01-14-2020

Just started "The Full Robot" by Isaac Asimov.

It's a collection of all the "robot" stories he has written. Smile

Oh, I wonder if your ever read Bill Bryson's The Mother Tongue: English and How It Got To Be That Way?  As witty as the others and so informative too.

Ever read the one where the robots sued the manufacturer for "illegal prior restraint" (meaning the Three Laws)?

I haven't as of yet, if its an Asimov one then it'll be in the book. It contains all his robot based stories including "I, Robot" and Bicentennial Man as well Thumbs Up
