That sounds more like something you would do at home alone, under the sheets?

Another reason these forums are so boring. It's all incestuous and inbreed. Nothing interesting at all.

It's probably a mental exercise in blocking out theism, that can't be accomplished in any other way.

But, is that challenging to the mind, or personally rewarding? heh, I guess it would be for most of you.

....just delivering a message. Do whatever you will.

"under the sheets"? You've got to be kidding. I have a desktop. It wouldn't work under the sheets.

"Another reason these forums are so boring. It's all incestuous and inbreed. Nothing interesting at all."

Well, I'm trying to change that. I don't know anyone here (well Gawdzilla Sama) so I'm neither incestuous nor inbred in that sense. Heck, I wouldn't even mate with myself.

"It's probably a mental exercise in blocking out theism, that can't be accomplished in any other way"

I don't need to block out theism. Other that at sites like this, theism doesn't even come up in my daily life. Unlike theists. That is sort of what "atheism" means. A lack of theism in daily life.

"But, is that challenging to the mind, or personally rewarding"

The subject of atheism seldom crosses my mind. Its not like I spend my day thinking "atheism". It only comes to mind when I meet irrational superstitious people who believe in deities.

14. Genesis 16:8

And he said “Hagar, Sarai’s slave girl, where have you come from and where are you going?” She answered, “I’m running away from Sarai, my mistress.” The angel of the Lord said to her, “Go back to your mistress and submit to ill treatment at her hands.”

And what does he do with the sacrifice? Are they used as a form of fuel without which he'll fade away? Or does he just enjoy seeing people lose something that they value for shits and giggles?

There are "cool believers? I never met a theist I would trust not to burn me at the stake if they had a chance. And bring an audience to cheer the event.

The only way to eradicate the curse: is for a man to live free from sin, and suffer death. Because; death was only meant for sinners!

How does a man live [free of sin]? Man cannot. He can only repeat it. God, in the person of Jesus can, and does live sin free.

And you believe that nonsense?  You are so credulous

Everyone dies permanently, good and bad.  Religious people invented a problem which doesn't exist so they could sell a cure which won't work.

Believing in an afterlife is fantasy and greed. Get over yourself.

Perchance you have theistic friends that you tolerate or that tolerate you. I do not. I am surrounded by theists. They think the world climate cannot be changing because "only God can do that". They blame murders of "evil" rather than hatred. They think vaccines are "against God's plan".

One decided to burn tree cuttings under small dry trees and against my fence. Because, she said, "God would protect". I had to threaten to call the fire department.

How does a man live [free of sin]? Man cannot. He can only repeat it. God, in the person of Jesus can, and does live sin free. And in the process; Teaches us “The Way,
the Truth, and the Life.” He also atones for our sins, and reconciles Himself to man, for putting sin in front of us to begin with. Much like Him saying, "I am sharing
in your humanity, and death so I might save all from eternal damnation." And Jesus dies at OUR sentencing and hands, sinless. The curse is then broken!

Death, then becomes a door instead of a destination! And in heeding His teachings, we avoid the “Second Death” (death of the soul).

And all this..... without disrupting Free Will. AMAZING!

In even simpler terms? God is not asking us to do something He wouldn’t do Himself. And out of pure love for ALL of us! Amen

Second death is preferable to submitting to a god that demands blood sacrifice.

There are some OK ones out there, here on AD we have Catholic Lady for example who is a real sweetie then there's Aliza who is either mod or admin (I can't remember which) she's a Jewish girl who believes in a god and she's delightful.

It all has to do w/ Free Will.

If a robot is what you would consider a viable companion for ETERNITY? Color me very impressed!

According to Christianity, God created all.  And God is perfectly good, just, fair, compassionate and merciful. Specific Bible claims. And God is perfectly omniscient, knowing the future in all details.

Now if God creates all and is perfectly omniscient, to create anything, God must choose an initial state of creation for any world God actualizes.  But from any given starting point, God knows what future that will create.  If in that world, John is evil, and therefore damned to eternal torment in hell, that is completely God's doing, John has no choice of how God creates him to be evil.  Therefore condemning John to hell is not good, not fair, just, compassionate or merciful.

If in this world there was a Genghis Khan, Hitler, Stalin, Mao and other infamous mass murderers, God chose that world he created to have these evil beings.  Hitler had no free will to not be evil, nor his victims to not be his victims.

Do you see now why us strong atheists don't believe a word people like you say about anything?  This theology means free will does not and cannot exist.  It means God determines all that happens to the smallest detail.  That includes all moral evil that has ever existed, exists, or will ever exist.  This is what we get when we follow the Christian claims about the nature of the Universe to their logical conclusions.

Now, go away and stop crapping in our nice clean forum, please.
