Paul may have been aware of many people who said smart things, and the faithful have a long history of putting the smart things other people say into the mouth of their gods.

In my story, Frank repeated his sayings many times, in private lessons and public talks, and some of his devoted followers did the same. They spread far and wide, and continued to circulate among his followers until whenever the gospels were first written. I haven't decided yet what to say in my story about how much Paul had to do with that, or knew about it. It seems to me like he would have heard some of those sayings, and it looks to me like he got some ideas from them for some of the advice he gave to the churches.
