The Neon Demon (2016)
A mid-teen girl - with all that it takes - moves to LA to become a model. 
Of course, having what it takes in a highly contested field, is to be hated, or wanted a little too much, by those who do not. 

"A visually stunning piece of shit" - A reviewer I usually trust. 
I kinda see his point.
It's inflated with scenes of pretty girls in pretty places, lightshows playing with colors and shapes. Which, IMO, doesn't breathe any life into a dry plot about bitter, deranged supermodels and creepy men. 
(On the plus side, Desmond Harrington was very good. He may be the definitive man-with-dead-eyes.)

I think it's meant to evoke something creepy or dream-like for the audience. To me it was just boring. 

Never Grow Old (2019)
Centered around Patrick, a carpenter and undertaker in an American frontier town. 
A band of outlaws arrive in his pious town, run by  a priest, and re-opens the bar. 
As the preacher loses authority - bullies often do when someone really dangerous comes along  - drunkenness and whoring resumes, bodies start to pile up, and the undertaker finds himself involved. Profiting from the misery. 
Eventually he has to pick a side and have a macho showdown.

Boring.

The Hunter's prayer (2017 )
Lucas, an ex-soldier turned hit-man gets  a job he can't bring himself to go through with. A young teenage girl. 
His employer - not a good man on the best of days - is understandably ticked off and now the two runners have to rely on each other to survive. 

Unusually good for this particular plot. 

5th Passenger (2017)
Five people escape off a damaged space-ship in a life-pod. When the pod is discovered, only one remain alive. She is non-responsive, forcing the rescuers to scan her brain for memories.
Who or what killed the others?

Cheesy, poorly made. Not worth seeing. 

Lycan (2017)
A group of students - classic mix of jock, mean girl, loner, junkie, etc - investigates a werewolf myth for history class. Riding deep into the woods to find a gravestone from a legend. They are not alone, and it's getting dark. 

Made in 2017 but set up and shot as if in the 80s. Hard to say whether it's bad or made to look rough and amateurish on purpose. 
Something for the die hard werewolf-flick fans. 

Bigfoot (1970)
Somewhere in America, a tribe of big black man-apes abducts women.
One has to parachute down from a crashing plane.
Another is part of a gang of motorcycle hippies traveling through the woods. Her boyfriend digs up a large grave, irritating the one who dug it. 
Will the Bigfoot hunters and the authorities and their guns save these white women in time?

Some good banjo music. 

The Other Side of the Door (2016)
After losing her son in a accident, a spiraling mother learns of a way to see her boy one last time to say goodbye. She is warned that no matter what happens, there is something she must not do. Open a particular door.
Guess what she does?
Now something dark is haunting her family. It's getting angrier and it is not alone.

Not bad, despite the weak reason for the haunting. 

Phantom Thread (2017)
Reynolds Woodcock. A dressmaker in the London 50s, tailoring to the elite; nobility, royalty, wealthy. An artist of cloth. 
This confirmed bachelor finds himself a new muse in Alma the waitress, whom do not grasp his eccentricities, just as he does not grasp hers. 

Not much of a love story, but it has a different kind of intimacy to work with.
