. This is some of the original electronic music, made on synthesizers before it could be aided by computers. I only learned about Giorgio Moroder from the Daft Punk song, but from what I gather, he was very important to electronic music as we know it.

About 10pm last night, right when my condo was supposed to be quieting down, I cranked it up a bit with music I shouldn't be trying to go to bed with. Big Audio Dynamite, Shearwater, Okkervil River, The New Pornographers. Earlier in the day, I discovered who System of a Down was. Can't say my life is any richer for it.

I'm hearing some beautiful Andelusian guitar music coming from my radio.

My station plays classical during the day til 3pm then, switches to NPR.  At around 7 or 8pm, it's all jazz til early morning.
They also have a digital bandwidth that pipes in the BBC most of the time.

It's great.  :nodding:  I walk my own little island of world culture, on the vast prairie sea.

This, but... it doesn't work as well without embedded videos. Who is running this place, anyway?

I'm kind of obsessed with Chopin's Ballade No. 4 in F Minor right now. Have been for months, actually.

"The advantage of faith over reason, is that reason requires understanding. Which usually requires education; resources of time and money.
Religion needs none of that. - It empowers the lowliest idiot to pretend that he is wiser than the wise, ignoring all the indications otherwise "

I never quite got Modonna.  She always sounds like Minnie Mouse to me.  If Minnie Mouse became a pop-rock star she'd sound just like Modonna.  But whatever.  She's a woman who took control of her career and I give her kudos for that.

October 2nd was World Ballet Day.  Yes, there is such a thing.  Several of the great ballet companies film their classes live and stream them on youtube. There usually up for several weeks and I have two tabs open.  One is the Royal Ballet classes in London  and the other is the Bolshoi.  This is how I get my kicks while at my cutting table,  which just happens to be the same height as a ballet barre and while I'm watching I do some of the exercises and listen to the music.

I'm a ballet fan as well. I don't get to go to much because of health issues, but I adored last year's Nutcracker as done by California Ballet Company. I haven't caught up with this past Ballet Day, but I watched a lot of last year's on YouTube. Mainly The Australian Ballet. They do a wonderful job if it. Plus, I got to learn a new favorite band: Magic Hands.

So, yes, I just watched this:

And now, this:
