Hey everyone! I thought I’d copy some of my poems over from TTA. Hopefully some more people will add theirs!
WINTER
A cool morning breeze
To rustle her fading autumn leaves
It has been a long year
The spring woke her kindly
And though she's a tired worn old tree
He told her there was nothing to fear
Spring is always false hope
Promises of new life
Spring tells her that she's beautiful
He's insincere and full of lies
The torturous sun of a thousand hells
Summer beats her back down
He tells her faith is futile
Summer always burns her
He revels in her misery
Summer thinks she's worthless
A bent and broken nothing tree
Autumn starts with hurricanes
Painful wind and forceful rains
Autumn seeks to drown her
He knows her ugly secrets
Autumn speaks of past mistakes
He plays his song on her regrets
But winter makes her shine true
Sparkling in her crystal limbs
Winter is the cold truth
He's not here to cause harm
He'll give her what she's longed for
A sweet death inside his arms
Winter won’t deny her
Gone today, but not forever

MY GARDEN
In my garden there are gnomes and angels
there are trolls and gargoyles
there's a demon or two.
Beds of poppies growing, no one taller than another
there are fluffy little bunnies
and of course there's always you.
Running, playing, falling
singing, laughing, weeping
days go by uncounted and the night time's just the same.
Everyone is welcome
no one cast away
still most who show up leave out the way they came.
Seasons come and seasons go
but my garden's always spinning
the one thing you can count on is the ever falling rain.
Yellow ovals, oblong blues, little white drops
distorting my vision and clouding my ambitions
but blocking out the pain.
In my garden there are lush green paths
there are dense thorny thickets
but I know my way through.
Lovely little water lilies
evergreen ivies climbing trees
and then of course there's always you.
Swing with me a while
we can listen to the birds call
we can keep each other warm.
Swing with me forever
we can count up every flower
we can weather every storm.

I've never been good at expressing myself through stuff like poetry. Those are really nice, Losty.

On the island of misfit toys
Lies a little porcelain doll
Deafened by silence
A stones throw away
A once valiant black stallion slouches
Blind as night, misses the horn centered upon his face
She sees him, cries out every night
He says, child I love not
But she’ll never hear him
Two worlds similar, so far apart
She sees the words his mouth forms
Mistakes them for adoration
Longing for the kickstart to her beatless heart
Every night he plays her lullabies, neverlands of reconciliation
He listens to the waves crash
She gazes at the lonesome sea
He drinks his bitter coffee
She sips her honeyed tea
She’s fragile
He’s broken
See how he falls in line
If they could only come together
Two halves could make them whole
He wants nothing of her
Just to rest his weary soul
She crumbles every night
Morning glues her pieces right
She sees his shadows
trailing concrete jungle corridors
Blending in to nothingness
keeping her gaze upon the floors
He tries to drown the demons
Sobered silence makes them roar
Both haunted from past horrors
Shuts his eyes, they disappear
Seeing is believing
Battle half lost
Sutured shutters won’t keep the glass shards out
Oh she knows the voices, too, she remembers echos past
Silent soundwaves knocked her flat upon her back
Little porcelain doll, too afraid to hear Sonic boom will crack her beyond repair
What she says
How she dresses
Who she could be
Everything she does
It’s meaningless
There will never be a when
Just burden
Wishing doesn’t make it sew
It was always up to him
Islands of one
Floating into nothingness
Tragic excommunication
Childish existential crises
Love languages misspoke in their good faith
Lovely lonesome misfit toys
Gathering green dust upon the shelf
"If there's a single thing that life teaches us, it's that wishing doesn't make it so." - Lev Grossman

A Hand Mirror
by Walt Whitman
Hold it up sternly! See this it sends back! (Who is
it? Is it you?)
Outside fair costume—within, ashes and filth,
No more a flashing eye—no more a sonorous voice
or springy step,
Now some slave's eye, voice, hands, step,
A drunkard's breath, unwholesome eater's face, ve-
nerealee's flesh,
Lungs rotting away piecemeal, stomach sour and
cankerous,
Joints rheumatic, bowels clogged with abomination,
Blood circulating dark and poisonous streams,
Words babble, hearing and touch callous,
No brain, no heart left—no magnetism of sex;
Such, from one look in this looking-glass ere you go
hence,
Such a result so soon—and from such a beginning!

The Tale of Lucid Lucius Pt I
There's no greater tale told
Then the one about Lucid Lucius
Dreams were his realm
He could plant a small sapling in a man's mind
It would lay down its roots and a tree would spring forth
which changed probability itself
His words were honeyed
Silky smooth silver tongue
Skillfully slithering snakelike
into a man's memory palace
placing fractious fragments of illusion causing
illness, making fools of geniuses and the gormless
Part I of III

The gormless held spellbound by his skill
He bobbed and weaved through words
He ran circles round rivals, leading them to the death knell
He was so drunk on power,
he did not notice his final hour draw near
Lucid Lucius laughed and lived
Loved and lost
Lusted and took what he wished
Dreams were his realm
Dreams he destroyed and illusions he crafted
There is no greater tale told
than the tale of Lucid Lucius
And the tale's end draws near.

Very sweet. Thanks for sharing it. It rained here for first time in at least half a year or else I'd be perplexed by the line I bolded. Not hard thank gawd or all those poor people who forgot to rake the forests near their home might get buried in mud. But even though I had to get to the market early and handle that weird free water falling every where, I absolutely love it - and of course so does my garden.

My two cents, in I will chime.
on those who rhyme, all the time.
I find it a crime,
not at all sublime.

That poem by Losty's about her garden is actually my favorite poem. I don't know many poems, but that's my favorite one. It's one thing of only three things in the world that I can read and it will make me cry. The other two things being the lyrics to the Steven Wilson song "Happy Returns", and the lyrics to the Porcupine Tree song "Even Less".
It's a truly wonderful poem, regardless of non-famousness (and it's much better than that William Wordsworth's "I wandered lonely as a cloud", shit.)

I have a few of my own, though probably nothing more recent than 40 or more years ago. But here is one for Avocado-guy, a choice dictated by our exchange in his Free Will thread. It has been known to make me weep. Oh hell, not again! (I hope you realize I almost never will discuss FW. Almost anything one says will distort more than it clarifies. I have nothing more to say about it .. hopefully ever.)
one's not half two. It's two are halves of one:
which halves reintegrating,shall occur
no death and any quantity;but than
all numerable mosts the actual more
minds ignorant of stern miraculous
this every truth-beware of heartless them
(given the scalpel,they dissect a kiss;
or,sold the reason,they undream a dream)
one is the song which fiends and angels sing:
all murdering lies by mortals told make two.
Let liars wilt,repaying life they're loaned;
we(by a gift called dying born)must grow
deep in dark least ourselves remembering
love only rides his year.
All lose,whole find

Old Fashioned Glass
As fragile as glass
I realised that was what I was
as I held the Old Fashioned glass
clear and bright, almost see through
filled halfway with a liquid of oaky texture
promising me great boons
being a buffoon, I took a sip
and I let my restraint slip
all it took was a push.
and I regret it still

The Emerald City
Lush evergreen forests abound
near the Emerald City
I see with the scope and power of God's eye
On the Great Wheel
at Pier 57
Staring at the calm deep blue of Elliot Bay
The sound of jets fly overhead
And I see my little world rotate endlessly
With an ice-cream in hand.
Here I am home

Time
All you are is told in time
How old you are
How long you have left
The beliefs you possess
Are moulded by time
Passing through like water on your fingers
what you sow
You reap
In time
Your face shows changes in time

Visions - by Robert E. Howard
I cannot believe in a paradise
Glorious, undefiled,
For gates all scrolled and streets of gold
Are tales for a dreaming child.
I am too lost for shame
That it moves me unto mirth,
But I can vision a Hell of flame
For I have lived on earth.

Break Out
A solution must be found
First port of call
Is the conventional box
Tried and tested
But it doesn't seem to work
Only creating a meagre piece
I cannot think of
Other ways
I was trained
to do certain things
in now routine ways
Looks like
I can't
Break out
